Pakistan Day on March 23 was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Pakistani embassy in Tokyo, today.

It is reported that the Pakistani embassy in Tokyo, Ambassador Imtiaz Ahmad, hoisted the national flag while the audience sang Pakistan’s national anthem.

The ambassador read the messages from the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

The embassy reaffirmed the importance of March 23 as a historic day that united the Muslims of the subcontinent for a greater purpose, namely to create their own homeland in which they would live their lives in accordance with their own beliefs.

In his remarks, the ambassador paid tribute to the father of the nation, Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, and all other great leaders of the freedom movement who paved the way for the creation of Pakistan.

He confirmed that Pakistan had been reached after numerous scarifications had been made. Therefore, it is essential for all Pakistanis to strive to promote peace, progress and unity in Pakistan.

The ambassador added that it was essential for them to continue and follow in the footsteps and legacies left by their founding fathers to make their country a cradle of peace, progress and stability.
