Emirates Airlines will resume partial flight operations on April 6, CEO Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said on Thursday.

“Emirates has received approval from the UAE authorities to fly a limited number of passenger flights,” he wrote in his tweet. “These flights will initially carry UAE travelers.”

On March 25, the airline discontinued most passenger flights due to the Corona virus outbreak. The airline had to cancel many routes and constantly update its flight schedule after many countries ceased international operations.

“Emirates is looking forward to the gradual resumption of passenger traffic in line with the lifting of travel and operational restrictions, including the assurance of health measures to protect our employees and customers,” said the CEO.
