According to the PIA, after NDMA requested, CEO ordered to set up a quarantine center at the PIA airport hotel next to Jinnah International Airport for coronavirus patients arriving from abroad.
The move comes after Pakistan has reported its third death and rise in coronavirus in the cases of COVID-19.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) asked the provinces on Thursday to convert all 3-4-star hotels into quarantine centers in the fight against COVID-19.
According to sources, the NDMA had written a letter to the federal secretary and all four provincial secretaries.
In the letter, the NDMA stated that it is necessary to take preventive measures against the coronavirus in accordance with WHO guidelines.
Pakistan announced its third death as a coronavirus on Friday when a 77-year-old patient died from COVID-19 in Karachi, Minister of Health Sindh confirmed Azra Fazal Pechuho.
Minister of Health Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho said in a video that the patient was a cancer survivor, had diabetes and high blood pressure, but had no travel history.
