According to Sources, two planes operated by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) came very close after the flaw in the air traffic controller’s system.

One PIA flight PK-352 flew from Karachi to Islamabad, while the other PK-785 flight flew from Islamabad to London.

The pilots’ mental vigilance prevented the impending crash and saved hundreds of lives on board both jets.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) noted the near miss and ordered an investigation.

The PIA flight from Islamabad to Karachi was 40,000 feet, while the foreign airliner was on a transit route at 35,000 feet. The two planes were less than five miles apart, the sources said.
