Emirates airline will restore full employee salaries starting next month, the local news agency confirmed on Saturday.

As the Dubai-based airline continues to expand its network, reaching 84 destinations on Saturday after it announced it would add Lagos and Abuja to its growing network. This is also a sign that the aviation industry is recovering and that the workforce in this sector is taking some pressure off.

On March 22, the airline stopped almost all passenger flights and cut employee wages by half due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic as travel expenses shrank. It had also asked employees to take unpaid leave and freeze recruitment as the industry faced one of the greatest challenges it has ever faced.
