The United Arab Emirates banned flights at the end of March 2020, causing Emirates to cease operations for a period of 14 days. As of April 6, 2020, Emirates resumed flights to a very limited extent. These flights only carry people from the UAE, so people cannot book flights to the UAE because the borders are closed. We are currently seeing:

  • Flights to London Heathrow 4x a week
  • Flights to Frankfurt 3 times a week
  • Flights to Manila 3-4 times a week
  • A flight to Sao Paulo once a week

As you can see, flights are operated on a very limited scale, but this is essentially only to get people out of the country and is hardly a resumption of operations.

Until recently, Emirates was scheduled to resume some flights by mid-May 2020, but that has now been pushed back.

Emirates has now updated its schedule to include a relaunch date for regular operations on July 1, 2020.
