Emirates received approval to carry passengers on certain flights effective April 6. The first flights start from Dubai to London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Paris, Brussels and Zurich, four flights a week to London Heathrow and three flights a week to other cities.
Until further notice, these flights will be operated from the international airport terminal 2 in Dubai and will only transport outgoing passengers from the UAE.
Emirates will also transport belly freight in both directions and support trade and communities in the transportation of essential goods.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, said: “These first passenger services are welcomed by our customers who want to return home, although they are limited to travelers who meet the entry requirements set by the destination countries We would like to thank the government of the United Arab Emirates and all of our partners for their support in ensuring that our flights run smoothly.
“Although we hope to be back in operation as soon as possible, we recognize the challenges that many cities face in coping with the Covid 19 outbreak. Our network can only be restored by easing travel restrictions, and we maintain close contact with all authorities for the latest updates. We work closely with the authorities to restart our services, taking into account the safety and well-being of our crew and our customers at every step of the journey. We continuously review them Situation and will announce more services as they become available. ”
Emirates will operate its Boeing 777-300ER on these routes and offer seats in the business and economy class. Eligible passengers can book flights at www.emirates.com.
Travel restrictions apply to these destinations, and travelers are asked to review entry criteria before flying.
For health and safety reasons, Emirates will operate a modified on-board service program on these flights. Magazines and other printed reading material are not available. As food and beverages continue to be offered on board, packaging and presentation will be changed to reduce contact during meal service. Emirates’ lounge and chauffeur drive services are temporarily unavailable during this period.
All Emirates aircraft undergo an improved cleaning and disinfection process after each trip to Dubai.
