Etihad Airways of Abu Dhabi denied having sent an e-mail to staff asking them to go on leave as cases of Covid-19 coronavirus continue to escalate worldwide.

Earlier, the Reuters news agency quoted an internal email to report that the airline had asked its cabin crew to take paid leave because the coronavirus had reduced global demand for travel. Etihad has canceled most flights to mainland China because of the virus, and airlines around the world have warned of the toll on operations.
