The public beaches in Abu Dhabi were reopened to visitors yesterday on March 19, the Ministry of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) said in Abu Dhabi.
On its social media accounts, the DMT announced that all beaches and their facilities had been thoroughly disinfected and sterilized.
“The DMT is pleased to announce that it has taken all necessary preventive disinfection and sterilization measures for parks, beaches, and public spaces to open the beaches today,” the agency announced.
The facilities were closed together with public parks last Sunday. With cities around the world recommending social distance measures to limit the onset of the corona virus, open public spaces such as parks and beaches offer residents the only way to spend some time away from home if needed. The DMT has also stated that it is taking strict measures to regularly disinfect these facilities so that residents can visit them safely.
