Your next trip to Canada just became easier!
The Government of Canada declared recently that the country will ease all travel-related restrictions starting 1st October 2022. Vaccine requirements for all travelers will be lifted. They also stated that COVID-19 tests will no longer be mandatory for visitors and use of the ArriveCan app will be made optional.
Besides no proof of vaccination and testing, travelers will also not be required to isolate or stay in quarantine in any capacity, according to reports. Moreover, the mask mandate on trains and planes is also said to have been removed. Federal Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos said that the measures are being taken since Canada is in a “much better position” than it was before, when it comes to tackling the COVID-19 pandemic and the number of cases in the country. A major reason for this is thought to be the accessibility of vaccines and better healthcare/treatment liberties.
If you are planning to travel to Canada, you will no longer have to undergo COVID-19 testing (pre- or post-arrival), report your health and symptoms upon arrival in the country, submit your public health information on the ArriveCan portal, present a vaccination certificate, or endure isolation and/or quarantine!
Canada’s announcement comes months after the world started to reopen for restriction-free travel. Many countries, including those in Europe, are allowing tourists to come and visit the destinations without any hassle. Even though some countries still maintain some restrictions, such as pre-arrival testing and mandatory masking in public spaces, the lifting of rules has guaranteed that people can travel stress-free now that we are in the post-pandemic era. Now is a good time to plan your next trip to Canada!
