Pakistan International Airlines has announced that its 4 special flights will bring Pakistani citizens stranded in the United Kingdom and Canada.
The entire world has been brought to a standstill as the corona virus has triggered a global health emergency that has suspended air travel in a number of countries, leaving passengers at airports in a state of confusion and helplessness.
Abdullah Hafeez, spokesman for the national flag carrier, told the media that the decision was made on humanitarian grounds to evacuate passengers stranded abroad who want to return home. Three flights fly to the UK and 1 to Canada. Flight PK-781 will depart Lahore to Toronto on Friday March 27th while PK-709 will fly from Islamabad to Manchester on Saturday March 28th.
Hafeez added that flight PK-757 will fly from Islamabad to London and PK-791 will fly from Islamabad to Birmingham on the same day. The PIA spokesman advised all stranded passengers to contact the PIA travel agents or the PIA call center to reserve tickets.
The national airline had carried out 22 special flights to repatriate Pakistani Umrah pilgrims stranded in Jeddah and Medina in Saudi Arabia after the kingdom suspended all flights to Pakistan.
