Pakistan International Airlines PIA has satisfied the Operational Safety Audit team of the IATA – International Air Transport Association, with regard to its management and safety measures.

The audit team reportedly found an improvement in PIA’s operational security measures compared to the last audit report in 2018.

The IATA team was on a 5 days visit in Pakistan. During this time, the audit team evaluated the safety parameters of concerned departments ranging from passenger services, security, flight operations and engineering departments.

According to the interim audit report, the PIA administration complied with 98.5 percent of the parameters, while the remaining issues will be fixed shortly.

The audit is carried out every two years to examine the safety standards of commercial airlines around the world. According to aviation experts, the national carrier had to complete the audit following the ban imposed by the UK, the US and Europe on the basis of fake pilot licenses.
