All planned events of hotels and entertainment destinations in Dubai have been canceled. This is in line with ongoing public health efforts against Covid-19.

The Dubai Media Office announced on Twitter that all events were suspended from March 15 through the end of the month. “DTCM is also instructing all entertainment destinations to cease operations, as well as all restaurants and wedding halls to suspend wedding meetings from Sunday, March 15, 2020 until the end of the month,” tweeted the media office.

The authorities warned that the affected facilities will be inspected to ensure compliance. This raises a big question mark on the upcoming Dubai’s Expo 2020 for which the whole Middle East been waiting since Nov 2013, the time it was announced.
