The Pakistani authorities have decided to cease domestic flight operations from March 26 to April 2 to curb the spread of corona virus.
The authorities banned all international flights last weekend. According to the spokesman for civil aviation, Abdul Sattar Khokhar, the ban does not apply to cargo and special flights. Typically, the president, prime minister, and other senior government officials travel on special aircraft.
The measure comes because the total number of new virus cases in Pakistan has risen to 990 and seven deaths have been reported. The crisis caused the government to impose a nationwide ban for two weeks.
