The authorities in Riyadh and Jeddah announced the closing of shopping centers and all activities on their premises, including restaurants and children’s playgrounds, on Sunday. However, supermarkets and pharmacies are allowed to open as usual. The measures are precautionary against corona virus.
According to a circular from the Riyadh Mayor’s Office, eating and drinking in restaurants and cafes in the Riyadh region is prohibited and includes both open and closed facilities.
The restaurants and cafes offer takeaway and drive-through options. The measures also included preventing meetings in open and closed public places, including parks and desert areas.
