A man who asked the Dubai police to get permission to go between his two wives’ homes was just one of the many unusual and funny questions asked during the launch of the 24-hour sterilization program this week were.
A senior police officer from Dubai was on the local radio answering questions from callers when the question came up.
“I am married to two women,” said the caller. “Should I get permission when I move from house to house?”
Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, director of the Dubai Police Department’s traffic department, laughed with the caller and said it was a good excuse not to see his other wife if he didn’t want to be with her.
“I’ve received a lot of questions like this,” said Al Mazroui. “The permit is unique and people have to apply for it when they leave their homes for necessary matters,” he added.
Al Mazroui said the goal of the approval is to protect people from coronaviruses and to limit their spread.
“It’s not logical to give someone weekly permission to buy essentials because we want to reduce movement on the streets,” he said.
“Areas where full sterilization used to take a week can now be done in a day, which speeds up the return to our daily lives,” he added.
