Manchester Airport will temporarily close two of its terminals in coming week after traffic has declined sharply as the world fights an outbreak of Covid-19.

From March 25, only Terminal 1 will be fully functional.

This means that passengers should check in from this date and pass through security in Terminal 1.

Anyone wishing to return to Manchester Airport will arrive at the first terminal regardless of which terminal they originally departed from.

Those who want to pick up passengers from the airport should also be aware of this change.

A spokesman for Manchester Airport added: “In some cases where people return to another terminal they departed from and have a vehicle in one of the Manchester Airport car parks, we will take the necessary precautions to help these customers can pick up their vehicles and will contact them in due course to explain how this will work. ”

Anyone who has booked a parking space or lounge access for terminals two or three and who arrives on or after March 25 can transfer their booking to the first terminal.

“During this transition, we will have colleagues on hand to help passengers and additional guides to guide people to the right places,” added a statement.

“For more information on changing terminals, visit our website or passengers can follow our social media channels for the latest advice and help.”
