Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) lost PKR 2 billion after corona virus temporarily suspended flights to Saudi Arabia following a temporary ban on Umrah.

The PIA officials said Tuesday that the airlines’ flight schedule was severely disrupted because tickets for 50,000 passengers had been canceled.

The authorities said that 13 flights to Jeddah and 34 to Madinah and for business visas and Iqama holders are planned weekly despite fewer passengers.

In addition, the financial loss due to the cessation of flights to Qatar and Iran is expected to increase.
