At the request of Pakistan, the Saudi Arabia authorities allowed Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to bring Umrah passengers and pilgrims stranded in Saudi Arabia until March 17.
PIA may send its aircraft to Jeddah and Madina only for the purpose of bringing the stranded back to Saudi Arabia.

A circular issued by Saudi authorities said that the Saudi Airlines flight operation from Jeddah and Medina to Pakistan would continue until March 19.
Saudi authorities had suspended all flight operations from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia for two weeks from 3pm due to the threat of the coronavirus.
The Civil Aviation Authority had requested the Saudi Arabian authorities to allow PIA and Saudi Airlines to operate their flights until March 25 so that passengers could be transported to their destinations.
