President Arif Alvi leaves for China on two-day visit despite corona virus outbreak


The President visits China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. Dr. Alvi will be accompanied by a delegation that includes Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, as well as senior officials.

The President will meet President Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders during his two-day visit. A number of MoUs are expected to be signed, according to a statement by the Federal Foreign Office (FO). This visit by the President aims to convey Pakistan’s strong support and solidarity with China, while making a determined effort to curb and combat the spread of the corona virus.

The visit also gives the leadership of both countries the opportunity to discuss bilateral, regional and international issues.
