An Indian from the state of Kerala, in Saudi Arabia who had to miss his daughter’s wedding in the state last year also had to miss her funeral on Sunday due to travel restrictions under Covid-19.
His daughter Sumayya, 20, who was seven months pregnant, and his son-in-law Haneefa, 28, died in a car accident in the early morning hours of Sunday with Haneefa’s 18-year-old brother Shahjahan.
Sumayya’s father, Kulamakkal Mannarthottam Ismail, who lives in Saudi Arabia, was reinforced by the fact that the first wedding anniversary of Haneef and Sumayya took place on Tuesday, March 17.
