The Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance announced that Taraweeh prayers will only be performed at home during the holy month of Ramzan, as prayers in mosques will not be allowed until the corona virus has ended.

Al Riyadh newspaper quoted Saudi Minister for Islamic Affairs, Dr. Abdul Latif Al Sheikh, saying: “Interrupting the five daily prayers in mosques is more important than interrupting the Taraweeh prayers. We ask Allah Almighty to accept Taraweeh prayers, whether in mosques or at home, which we believe is better for people’s health. We ask Allah Almighty to accept prayers from all of us and to protect humanity from the epidemic that has struck the whole world”.
