Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai will become a track for the city’s new cycle race, Dubai Ride, on November 20th.
The non-competitive, open-access community event held as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge 2020 will take cyclists of all abilities and experience for a ride down the city’s main artery. Participants can enjoy the thrill of an outdoor bike tour while enjoying a unique perspective of iconic landmarks at the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC), downtown Dubai, Business Bay and the Dubai Canal.
The first event of its kind in the city, announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, will include two different routes – a 4km family ride and a 14km open ride. The 4 km long drive is open to participants aged five and over in all abilities and fitness levels. The route that takes drivers around Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard offers plenty of photo opportunities. The 14 km long route, which was designed for cycling enthusiasts aged 13 and over, takes you on a unique bike tour through downtown Dubai, Business Bay, the Dubai Canal and Sheikh Zayed Road.
Cyclists must be able to ride at least 4 km, bring their own bike and helmet, and register at www.dubairide.com to take the ride.
