Spain has banned Saturday from leaving the house other than going to work or buying essential supplies to slow the spread of the corona virus.
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced the movement restrictions after the number of cases with over 5,700 people infected in this nation by around 46 million people increased sharply.
Spain followed Italy’s path to implementing a similar ban after both European countries were unable to contain the virus in regional hotspots.
Sanchez performed the series of exceptional actions in a nationwide television speech after holding a cabinet meeting that lasted over seven hours.
The delay was reportedly due to disagreements in the Sanchez Socialist coalition government and United We Can anti-austerity.
