In response to a sudden increase in confirmed cases of COVID-19, Spanish police are using drones to patrol cities and urge people to stay inside.
The country declared a state of emergency on Friday, and on Saturday the government ordered everyone in the country to stay at home for everyone except the main outdoor trips, the sources said. And now, like in China earlier this year, the Spanish police are hoping to shame people to stay inside without getting close to them and the risk of disease spreading.
Cops who use drones to yell at people to stay inside sound like something straight out of a cyberpunk dystopia. However, following the quarantine guidelines and keeping the distance are some of the best ways to slow down and hopefully eventually stop the spread of the coronavirus.
