Thailand has come up with a unique kind of tourist visa that will allow the foreigners to stay up to 90 days, provided they are quarantined for the first 2 weeks. These special visas can be renewed twice, allowing 270 days or about nine months in Thailand.

After the quarantine, visitors are free to move around the country but must book all accommodation in advance.

The government plans to only issue 1,200 of these visas each month.

While unnecessary travel will no longer be discouraged, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warn that “traveling increases your chance of catching and spreading COVID-19”.
