22 Indian nationals stranded at Dubai International Airport asked for help after being suspended from the coronavirus outbreak.
At least seven of the Indian passengers lived in the transit zone for five days, while others checked into a hotel in the hall. India is among the countries that ban passenger flights for at least another week, while the United Arab Emirates was shut down at all airports on Monday.
On March 18, eight of the 22 Indians came to Dubai from different cities of Europe. The men are in the transit zone at most international hubs. We have gotten off flights but cannot enter the country because immigration controls cannot be completed as all new visas are suspended.
Indian consular officials informed that the group could not board connecting flights home since the countries from which it came were among the 38 nations from which India suspended entry on March 18.
11 passengers from all age groups including elderly people arrived on a flight from Sydney on Saturday, but missed the flight to India, which was the last one before the suspension, due to heavy rain and bad weather in Dubai on Saturday evening.
